The Therapeutic Goods Administration is part of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. Its overall purpose is to protect public health and safety by regulating medicines and medical devices manufactured, imported, supplied in, and exported from Australia. We need capable and motivated people working with us to make this happen.

This position offers diverse and interesting work in a supportive and friendly environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide technical support within a team of professional and technical staff engaged in microbiological testing and method development activities.
- Perform a variety of microbiological assays/tests and procedures, including investigations of microbial content and preservative efficacy testing of therapeutic goods, microbiological assay of antibiotics and microbial efficacy testing of disinfectants, in accordance with the TGA Office of Laboratories and Scientific Services Quality System requirements.
- Document test results and prepare concise technical reports.
- Undertake the preparation of laboratory samples, consumables and equipment.
- Perform equipment calibrations and carry out internal audits and other quality assurance activities.
- Other duties as may be required appropriate to the APS 5 (Technical) level and the skills and qualifications of the employee.
