Dr Oppenheim has been the Principal of his consulting company since 2003. Prior to this, he held various technical, regulatory and operational management positions at R P Scherer Australia / Cardinal Health retiring as its Pacific Region Technical Director. Prior to this industrial experience, Dr Oppenheim was on the Pharmaceutics Faculty of the Victorian College of Pharmacy for 17 years.

Dr Oppenheim is actively involved in many industry technical committees. He is also an industrial participant in the Office of Complementary Medicine / industry consultation group which develops options and guidelines for the regulation of complementary medicines including the Australian Regulatory Guidelines for Complementary Medicines.
