International visitors & training
Over the past few months the TGA has hosted a number of short-term visits from delegations of overseas regulatory agencies from Indonesia, China, Iran, Mexico, USA and Taiwan.
Since July 2003 the TGA has conducted six training programs for staff of government regulatory agencies around the region. All programs were carried out either on a full cost recovery basis or with the sponsorship of AusAID. The most recent was a training program on prescription medicine regulation completed in October, which attracted ten participants from five different countries. The last TGA training program in 2003 is to be conducted in November, focusing on regulation of non-prescription medicines.
