Treaties and monitoring
The Office of Chemical Safety Treaties and Compliance Team is pleased to announce achievement of a significant milestone in the Treaties and Monitoring Team Improvement Project. Recently a major custom built set of enhancements to the National Drug Strategy (NDS) application has been deployed into the production environment and is now being used by the Monitoring Group. The new system provides the capability to upload, match and process monitoring transaction data. Monitoring Group receive up to 40,000 transaction records per week from Reporting Authorities sending and receiving drug movements around the country. The new system is expected to greatly improve the quality of data being matched, providing for improved management of rejects and more accurate and timely reporting.
The work has been extremely well facilitated by Alex Hanisch with the support of Aaron Kooymans as the developer, and drawing on the efforts of the entire Treaties and Compliance Team.
Another release with further functionality and reporting capability is planned for later this year.
