Cosmetic guidelines
NICNAS's Cosmetic Guidelines (as outlined in a November 2005 report) were endorsed by the Government but have not yet been passed into legislation. This document details arrangements that now operate in the interim for specific cosmetic product categories on a product-by-product basis, by written agreement with the Director, NICNAS. Nanomaterials
Now available on the NICNAS website <http://www.nicnas.gov.au> is an information sheet containing an overview of nanomaterials, covering
- definitions of nanotechnology and nanomaterials
- the use of nanomaterials in Australia (including industrial uses)
- health and environmental concerns
- what is being done internationally and in Australia
- NICNAS's role in their regulation and NICNAS's current activities concerning nanomaterials
- a comprehensive bibliography listing additional sources of information and reports.
NICNAS annual report
The NICNAS Annual Report 2005-06 was tabled in Parliament on 10 October 2006 and is available on the NICNAS website <http://www.nicnas.gov.au>.
Publication updates
The ADI List, the ARfD List and the FAISD Handbook have all been updated.
