NDPSC guide to the packaging, labelling and regulation of paints, tinters and related products
July 2007
This guide, based on the Standard for the Uniform Scheduling of Drugs and Poisons effective 1 June 2007, applies only to paints, tinters and related products that contain poisons. These requirements are constantly under review and future modifications are to be anticipated.
This guide has been prepared to assist manufacturers and packers of paint, tinters and related products to draft labels that comply with the requirements of the SUSDP which apply to products manufactured and labelled for sale to the public.
As poisons labelling is the responsibility of the States and Territories, when further information or assistance is required reference should be made to them, not to the National Drugs and Poisons Schedule Committee (NDPSC). A list of State and Territory contacts has been included at the end of this document, and can also be found at: Contacts for State/Territory drugs & poisons units <http://www.tga.gov.au/ndpsc/stdpu.htm>.
